Shooting Victim Transported by Helicopter From CVS Parking Lot

Police have not yet been able to obtain further details from the victim.

A man had to be transported by helicopter from the CVS parking lot on Touchstone Circle to a nearby trauma center last night after a shooting incident left him wounded, police said.

InsideNova reported that the shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. in a home on Kempston Lane in the Westridge neighborhood.

On the Prince William County Police Department Facebook page, Officer Jonathan Perok said the shooting was most likely an "isolated incident."

Perok told Lake Ridge Patch this morning that police are "running into some issues getting information from the victim," so it's still unclear what happened, and whether the shooting was intentional on the part of the victim or another person, or whether the shooting was the result of an accident.

At this point, police do not believe that anyone else was injured, and no suspects have been detained, Perok told Lake Ridge Patch.
