State Police Look For Suspects Who Crashed Into Trooper's Vehicle

The suspects were first pulled over on Prince William County Parkway near I-95, but then eluded police.

Virginia State Police are searching for two suspects who reportedly crashed their Buick into a trooper's vehicle and then ran away on foot, according to Virginia State Police Public Relations Director Corinne Geller.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, trooper C. Lanfranchi Jr. conducted a traffic stop for a 1994 Buick Sedan on Prince William County Parkway. The vehicle had expired plates.

"As the trooper walked up to the car, the Buick sped away," Geller said. The trooper pursued the vehicle. "Approximately eight minutes later, the suspect vehicle and the trooper’s vehicle collided. The Buick’s driver and passenger then fled on foot. The trooper was not injured in the crash."

State police searched the surrounding area with tracking canines and air support, but discontinued the search at noon when they found no one.

Police are looking for two black males who fled the scene. If you have information about this incident, call Virginia State Police at 703-803-0026 or #77 on your cell phone.
