A vehicle crashed into a home on Cotton Mill Drive Thursday night, causing $50,000 in damages.

Rebecca Barnes, Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department Public Relations Specialist, said in a release that unites from three area fire and rescue squads responded to 11972 Cotton Mill Drive at 12:42 a.m. Friday morning.

"The first arriving fire engine reported that one vehicle was into the corner of the garage, and it appeared the garage slightly collapsed and was resting on the car," said Barnes in the release.

"Once it was determined that there was not a life safety hazard, members from OWL Collapse Rescue Team put a temporary shore in place so the vehicle could be removed by a wrecker," said Barnes in the release. "Once the vehicle was removed, a permanent shore was put in place and the scene was turned over to the building inspector and occupants."
