Woodbridge Man Charged With Brandishing a Firearm Near I-95

The brandishing was allegedly the result of a reported incident of road rage.

Police have charged Woodbridge resident Dennis Murray with brandishing a firearm in Dumfries near I-95 and Dumfries Road, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

"The investigation revealed that the accused was traveling on Dumfries Road in area above when he was cut off by the driver of a tractor trailer, a 59-year-old man of Waldorf," Perok said. "After being cut off, the accused allegedly approached the driver’s side door of the tractor trailer and became irate. At one point, the accused returned to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm and pointed it towards the other driver. No shots were fired. Following an investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested."

Murray, 53, was released on a $2500 unsecured bond. His court date is Nov. 5.
