Woodbridge Man Reportedly Assaulted by Mob in Lake Ridge

A fellow Woodbridge man has been charged with assault and battery by mob.

On June 24, a 21-year-old Woodbridge man reported to police that he was physically assaulted by a known acquaintance and two unknown men in the area of Kenwood Drive, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

The victim reported that he had an argument with the accused. The argument escalated, and the three men then reportedly assaulted the victim, Perok said. 

"The accused fled the scene prior to police arrival," Perok said. "A warrant was obtained for the accused and later served without incident. The victim was unable to further identify the two other men involved in the assault."

The victim had minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The accused was charged with assault and battery by mob, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor in Virginia. His court date and bond information is unavailable.
