UPDATE: Wreck at Springwoods Drive and Mojave Lane

Two ambulances were on scene after the May 31 wreck in Lake Ridge.

UPDATE: Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok provided further details on the May 31 crash at Springwoods Drive and Mojave Lane:

"Driver of the van was pulling out of Mojave onto Springwoods in front of the sedan," Perok said in an email.  "Driver of van was uninjured and charged with fail to yield right of way. The sedan driver and passenger were transported with minor injuries."

Original story:

After a car wreck at Springwoods Drive and Mojave Lane shortly after 1:30 p.m. on May 31, at least one vehicle was inoperable, according to the police scanner.

Two ambulances were on scene. It appeared as if rescue workers were loading at least one person into the back of one of the ambulances, but it is unknown if and how many people were injured. Based on the damage to the vehicles, it looked as if one car had T-boned the other.

The northbound lanes of Springwoods were temporarily closed off at Mojave. Traffic is now moving, although slowly.

I so appreciate Rich Anderson's presence on this committee. My biggest question is why didn't anyoneRead More have a plan for jobs to take effect if these cuts happened. Did anyone calculate the expense to the economy that would occur from Sequestration or plan to offset that expense?

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
