Coles District Residents Have Another Chance To Comment on Redistricting Maps

Supervisor Martin Nohe said tonight's meeting will include a discussion on the proposed redistricting maps.

Supervisor Martin Nohe is having a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the Board Chambers of the McCoart Building where he said he will have the proposed redistricting maps available for review.

The county's redistricting process was cut short this year because of an error by the Electoral Board.

The Electoral Board sent out an incorrect timeline for when the process should be completed by, which resulted in supervisors and county staff thinking they had more time than they did. Almost a month had to be cut off from the public process and the redistricting maps were rushed through the public hearing onto the final approval schedulde for April 18.

"The Town Hall Meeting will include a presentation by our Deputy County Executive Chris Martino on the proposed redistricting maps," Nohe wrote in a reminder email about the meeting.   "The Board of County Supervisors is scheduled to adopt a redistricting plan on April 18, so this is also an opportunity for the public to give feedback before that final redistricting map is adopted."
