County Strategic Plan Meetings Open to Public

As you may know, Prince William County is currently in the process of developing its four year Strategic Plan. Once adopted, this will guide county decision making in all areas--from the budget to capital investments. It is one of the principal documents that the county staff will look to when making recommendations to the Board of County Supervisors on county policy. To that end, citizen input is vital!

The Strategic Plan Team invites you and your family to participate in a community meeting to discuss the Team's recommendation and provide input to the Board of Supervisors' consideration. Meetings will be held on Saturday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, May 23 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the McCoart Building.

The team is recommending five strategic goals for the Board of County Supervisors' 2013-2016 Strategic Plan:

• Infrastructure/Transportation
• Human Services
• Economic Development
• Public Safety
• Quality Education

If you are unable to attend one of these community meetings, there will also be a Board of Supervisors work session on the Plan on June 5, 2012, and a public hearing on the proposal on June 19, 2012. And, as always, you are invited to contact my office with your questions, comments and feedback.
