Goddard School to be Built at Old Bridge Commons

A new daycare is in the plans for the new Old Bridge Commons shopping center.

The Goddard School for Early Childhood Development is planning to put in another daycare location in the Old Bridge Commons.

The school is planning to start construction as soon as their building permit is approved and hopes to be open for enrollment for the fall semester.

The Goddard School location currently in Woodbridge offers a year-round extended day program from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. They say their program is designed to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of children from six weeks to six years of age. They also offer after-school and summer programs for children up to eight years old.

The new site, just east of the Festival at Old Bridge shopping center, is currently under development. It is likely the last undeveloped parcel of the Woodbridge Airport rezoning, which rezoned the Festival at Old Bridge and the surrounding residential area.

The new development will also hold a 7-11. The rest of the space is not finalized.

I so appreciate Rich Anderson's presence on this committee. My biggest question is why didn't anyoneRead More have a plan for jobs to take effect if these cuts happened. Did anyone calculate the expense to the economy that would occur from Sequestration or plan to offset that expense?

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and had the turkey-avocado BLT with sweet tea and fries -- delicious.Read More Dave and Eric, the new managers, are good, hardworking guys who I wish all the best in their new venture. As Earnie said, Dave and Sarah have developed a diverse and interesting menu, with some pleasant surprise offerings, the prices are reasonable and they're going to be open seven days a week for breakfast to dinner, something many other Occoquan restaurants don't do. Give them a try, and tell them Chuck the Foodie sent you.
