Local Resident Reappointed to Electoral Board

Keith Scarborough will serve another three-year term on the panel.

Lake Ridge resident Keith Scarborough was reappointed to serve another three-year term on the Prince William County Electoral Board today.

The Circuit Court makes the appointments to the board that oversees all elections and voter registrations in the county. Scarborough is an attorney for an advertising trade association in Washington, DC. He was appointed first in 2007 and now serves as chairman.

He also served as the coordinator of the county campaign for President Barack Obama in 2007-08 and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2008. He also is a former chairman of the Prince William County Democratic Committee.

The Electoral Board is gearing up for a busy political season. All Virginia General Assembly seats are up for re-election, as well as local seats on the County Board of Supervisors, School Board, sheriff and commonwealth's attorney.

Scarborough said the primary will be held on Aug. 23 instead of June.

"We are still in the process of redrawing the districts," he said.
