Back to Richmond

General Assembly members are enroute to Richmond today (Tuesday, April 17th) for this afternoon's budget session and tomorrow "Reconvene Session."

Dear Neighbors:  General Assembly members are traveling to Richmond today for this afternoon's Special Legislative Session to finalize the biennial $85B budget for the Commonwealth of Virginia, which covers the two-year period from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2014.  I'm hopeful that we will complete the work today and send our budget bills to the Governor for his signature.  Following today's work on the budget, we will convene tomorrow for the Constitutionally-mandated "Reconvene Session," at which we'll consider the seven vetoes and various amendments proposed by Gov. Bob McDonnell to the bills we sent him from the 2012 Regular Legislative Session of the General Assembly (that took place from January 11th to March 10th of this year). More to follow, friends!
