Perfect Game at Bowling Open Championships Comes From Woodbridge Man

It's Darryl Carreon's first trip to the tournament.

Darryl Carreon of Woodbridge bowled a perfect game on Friday at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships in Reno, Nev.

The 29-year-old right-hander rolled games of 188 and 268, including seven consecutive strikes to start his second game.

Carreon finished strong with 15 straight strikes, including the second 300 of the 2014 USBC Open Championships, according to a release from the United States Bowling Congress.

After the final shots, Carreon was thinking of his mentor, Willie Jenks.

"I was just thinking of back home," said Carreon, who bowls out of Bowl America Shirley in Alexandria. "I came out here feeling inspired. In the last 10 to 12 years, he's given me so much knowledge. I brought it all here and didn't take anything for granted. I'm just thankful for him."
