Speak Out: How Can Local Pools Prevent Vandalism?

After two incidents in which Canterbury Woods Pool in Lake Ridge was vandalized with kitty litter in the past month, what are your ideas for the prevention of future vandalism?

After Canterbury Woods Pool in Lake Ridge was , the is offering a reward to any information leading to the arrest of anyone involved.

But the LRPRA still has to absorb the cost of the extra cleaning and refilling of the pool. The problem isn't limited to the LRPRA. Vandals also targeted  in 2010, dumping food and furniture into the water.

How can local pools prevent vandalism like this in the future?

Patch blogger and community activist Connie Moser .

"I wonder what pleasure anyone gets from keeping hundreds of families from enjoying the pool for a couple of days, creating a lot of work for employees and making the pool management spend a small fortune to repair the damage?" she asked.

Joe George .

"It's a shame you have to put out a reward for information leaing [sic] to the arrest of those responsible for these actions, BUT if the amount was increasesed [sic] to $2Gs, there are enough low-lifes that have heard them bragging about this, that amount would convince them to turn them in," he said.
