Why Go: A family-friendly concert featuring classical music.

When/Where: May 26, 11 a.m. Cranford United Methodist Church, 9912 Old Colchester Road, Lorton.

Why Go: The annual Strawberry Festival benefits the United Methodist Women's missions projects for women and children locally, nationally, and internationally. Lunch will include BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, cole slaw, and beverages. Strawberries will be served with ice cream and in baked goods. In addition, a raffle winner will take home a basket full of assorted strawberry items.

Why Go: Step back in time to the Renaissance and enjoy the music, food, costumes, and archery displays.

Price: Ages 6 and older, $9. Ages 5 and younger, free.

Studio 3 Presents Rapunzel

When/Where: Saturdays through June 30, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Workhouse Arts Center, Youth Art Center, building W3, 9601 Ox Road, Lorton.

Why Go: Family-friendly hour long performance of Rapunzel. A comic rendering of the classic tale.

D.C. Battle of the Bands Finals

When/Where: May 27, 4 p.m. Empire, 6355 Rolling Road, West Springfield. 

Why Go: Features bands such as Grey Sky Eternal, Jackson and Traveller, Howlin Bends, Louder Than Quiet, Stone Monky, Bad Mooka, Set For Tomorrow, Regretfully I, Great Expectations, Toad Head and Timeless Vision.
