Turkey Trots, Christmas Carolers, Tree Lighting, and More Events this Weekend

Creative Deals: Forget the mall, the Black Friday Holiday Celebration at the Workhouse includes tons unique gifts, along with demonstrations on Portrait Painting, Flame Working, Mosaics and more. There will be a paper snowflake making table and a gingerbread house table, along with dance performances and a visit with Santa. Free. 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. A Capella Carolers: Chanticleer, a 12-member a capella group, returns to the Hylton Center for A Chanticleer Christmas. The show will include seasonal songs, classics and familiar carols. From $34. 4 p.m. Sunday. Merchant Hall. Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas.

Mice, Men, Music, Memories: Gainesville Ballet presents “Clara and The Nutcracker Prince,” a holiday classic featuring international guest dancers and students of Gainesville Ballet. From $15. 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Merchant Hall. Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas.

Lighting Up Black Friday: A flurry of activity welcomes shoppers at Stonebridge on Friday night. The Holiday Tree Lighting event includes holiday performances, horse and carriage rides, balloon art,  prizes and more. There will also be a food drive. The first 500 people receive a free spinning snowman wand. Free. 6-8:30 p.m. Friday. Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, 15151 Potomac Town Place, Woodbridge.

More Lights, In Remembrance: Not far from the action at Stonebridge, the Sentara tree lighting follows later in the weekend. Individuals have donated $15 toward the lights in memory or in honor of a loved one. Music and refreshments will follow in the Hylton Education Center. Free. 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, 2300 Opitz Boulevard.
