Weekend Planner: Sales Tax Holiday, Free Concert, Public Skate

Back to School Sales Tax Holiday. Fill your cart with school supplies during the back-to-school sales tax holiday on Aug. 2-4. Qualifying purchases of school supplies at $20 or less per item and qualifying purchases of clothing and footwear at $100 or less per item will be exempt from the state sales tax during this weekend.

Personally Yours 21st Anniversary Sale. The Occoquan store's sale begins Friday and ends Sunday. Most items in the store will be 21 percent off, with a few exceptions, which will all be marked. Refreshments will include pineapple pecan chicken salad and strawberry lemonade.

Friday Flicks: "We Love the Zoo!" Aug. 2, 10:30 a.m. Chinn Library, 13065 Chinn Park Drive, Woodbridge. Movie based on a book. For ages 2 and older with a caregiver. Drop in, no registration required. Free.

Andrew McKnight & Beyond Borders Concert. Aug. 3, 6:30 p.m. Harris Pavilion, 9116 Center Street, Old Town Manassas. Beyond Appalachian, beyond blues, beyond folk. Free and family-friendly.

Prince William Ice Center Public Skate. Get on the ice for only $7 for a two hour session this weekend.
