Personal Photo Organizer Joins Lake Ridge Patch Local Voices

Megan McCourt will share photo organizing tips with Patch readers on her new blog.

Lake Ridge resident Megan McCourt joined the Lake Ridge Patch blogging community to share photo organizing tips with Patch readers.  "I'd venture to say just about every household in America has at least one box of photos buried in a closet or under a bed," McCourt said in her first blog post. "Photos that are cherished memories, but might not have been seen in decades. Photos that, if tragedy struck, you would be scrambling to find." To read more, ask a question, or leave a welcoming comment, see McCourt's new blog post. Interested in reaching our readers? Set up a free blog.

Winter is over. We moved the clocks forward (Why do we do that? We are so powerful we can change time!) The ground is beginning to thaw, birds are returning to our backyards and soon we’ll be getting out the lawn furniture and packing away coats. For many of us involved in the care of our community, our spring cleaning is a little different from the ordinary “connect the hose, wash the windows, and take the winter blankets off the beds” sort of preparation for warm temperatures. New PRTC Schedules Available Online

The new schedules for the OmniRide Tysons Express went into effect on Feb. 18.

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) has revised its OmniRide Tysons Express schedules now that the I-495 Express Lanes have opened and personnel have had an opportunity to gather new data about travel times. By using the new Express toll lanes, which are free for buses and HOV 3+, PRTC has been able to reduce the travel time on its commuter bus service between Woodbridge and Tysons by an average of 20 minutes. That means Tysons Express riders can get to and from work even faster while still having "found time" during their commute - the time to do things one can't do while driving such as snoozing, checking emails, reading a book and maybe even getting some work done through the free Wi-Fi available on the bus. …
