Salvation Army 2010 Angel Tree Distribution Underway in Prince William County

Marine Corps. and volunteers collected toys at the PWC Salvation Army drop off point.

The Salvation Army began gift distribution today for its Toys for Tots Angel Tree program, and the Prince William County gift drop off located at 3310 Noble Drive in Woodbridge nicely filled up with presents by 2 p.m. with even more toys coming in as the day progressed.  The NoVa, MD, and DC area has a total of seven Angel Tree gift drop off spots, with toy distribution at most places beginning today at around 9:30 a.m. However, for Prince William distribution will start Monday, Dec. 20. According to a press release from the Salvation Army, most people make appointments in order to pick up gifts for children. About 8,524 families in the DC Metro area are expected to receive gifts through Angel Tree, including toys, stuffed animals, …

Untrim- A- Tree in Occoquan

The Occoquan Merchants Association offers a way to give back for the holidays.

The holiday spirit is prevalent throughout northern Virginia, but no more so than in the charming waterfront Town of Occoquan.  The Occoquan Merchants Association reminds everyone about the true spirit of the season - giving.  And in that spirt, the merchants extend an invitation to all to Untrim-A-Tree and provide a gift for a deserving child.  Through Thursday, December 9th, simply stop by Occoquan Town Hall or The Garden Kitchen and pick a child's hang-tag from the tree.  Hours at Occoquan Town Hall, 314 Mill Street, are 9:30 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; The Garden Kitchen is located at 404 Mill Street and is open daily from 9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Contact the Occoquan Merchants Association 571-334-7357 for further…
