Long Lines, Strong Cravings at Bobby's Burger Palace Opening

The celebrity chef was there in person for the public opening.

By the time the doors of Bobby's Burger Palace opened at noon on Wednesday, a couple hundred people were in line outside. "I got here at 8 a.m. this morning because I wanted to be first in line," Rebecca Voss said, holding a cookbook for celebrity chef Bobby Flay to sign. "My husband is a big Bobby Flay fan. He's my husband's favorite chef."  "I got there at 10, and she was ready to fight," Joyce Entremont said, laughing. Several in line wanted to crunchify their burgers -- to order the burger with potato chips on top.  "We haven't seen the menu, but we're definitely going to crunchify it." Patty Bennett said "I was looking at the Dallas Burger, maybe? And some chips on top," Shawnetta West said. "And maybe a milkshake."  Flay is known for…

Burger was 5/10- it was dry and more important...it was small. Not that every burger has to be huge, but for a $10 burger, I would expect something at least commensurate with Five Guys or Red Robin. Fries were above …   more ›

Speak Out: Restaurants or Parking Spaces?

Which would you prefer to see at Potomac Mills mall?

Wednesday, Potomac Mills mall announced that two new standalone restaurants would be coming to the outlet mall. A third restaurant has yet to be officially announced by mall management, but it has been reported that a Bahama Breeze would also open. The Cheesecake Factory and Bobby’s Burger Palace will start construction later this fall. A reader said he saw fences going up around the proposed location while waiting in a slug line Thursday morning. Two additional stores, The Christmas Tree Shops and buybuy Baby will open in the mall. In Fredericksburg, the same two shops have submitted plans to take up residence in a vacant Shoppers Food and Pharmacy building in Central Park. Last February, the mall closed 750 parking spaces in anticipation…

PWC needs to continue to increase the number of quality stores and restaurants so that residents don't have to drive to other counties. Not everyone is interested in Potomac Mills shopping in hopes to find a nice suit or something even from the current year. It's so frustrating. There is a demand from the PWC residents. Why do we continue to play second fiddle to Fairfax County. I love the …   more ›
