Police: Wertz Drive Shooting Death Leads to Woodbridge Arrest

Man charged with first degree murder after the Wednesday night homicide, according to Prince William County Police.

Police have arrested and charged a man with first degree murder after another Woodbridge man was shot along Wertz Drive in Woodbridge, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.  Aric Alexander Smith, 25, of Woodbirdge, was also charged with armed robbery and using a firearm in commission of a felony. Police initially responded on Feb. 20 at 9:40 p.m. to the 3700 block of Wertz Drive for a report of shots fired.  "Witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing the area on foot who was believed to be the shooter," Perok said. "The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that the victim was walking his dog in the area above when he was approached by an unknown man, identified as the accused. Third Suspect Arrested in Dale City Homicide

Douglas Hernandez was arrested Tuesday, according to Prince William County Police.

After being recently identified as the third suspect in a Dale City homicide in which the victim's body was dumped onto a Dale City roadway, Douglas Hernandez was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with first degree murder, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. The body of Barbaro Lupe Alonso-Irahola, 47, of no fixed address, was found in a Dale City neighborhood. The victim sustained trauma to his face from a blunt object and a knife, according to police. The Prince William County Police Street Crimes Unit and the U.S. Marshals' Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found and arrested Hernandez on Fullerton Road. He was arrested without incident. Homicide Suspect to Remain in PWC Until Extradition Hearing

Anthony Taglianetti did not waive extradition.

Anthony Robert Taglianetti, the only suspect in the homicide of Clymer Central School District Superintendent Keith Reed, Jr., will stay in Prince William County until his extradition hearing, Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace announced today.  Taglianetti was captured last week in Shenandoah County. He did not waive extradition to New York, and could stay in PWC for 30 days or more, depending on how long the extradition process takes. Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley is managing the extradition process. According to an Associated Press article in the Houston Chronicle, a source believed that Taglianetti thought that Reed was having an affair with Taglianetti's wife.  Related content:

A suspect in the homicide of Clymer (N.Y.) Central School Superintendent Keith Reed, Jr., was captured today in Shenandoah County, ending a nationwide manhunt, the U.S. Marshals Service of the Eastern District of Virginia reported.  Woodbridge resident Anthony Robert Taglianetti, II, is a suspect in the investigation surrounding Reed's death on Monday. U.S. Marshal Robert Mathieson announced his capture in a release.  "42-year-old Taglianetti, a former Marine, is suspected of going to New York and murdering Superintendent Reed within the last week," the release stated. Woodbridge Man Wanted For Shooting of Superintendent in New York

A Woodbridge man is wanted as a suspect in the shooting of Clymer School superintendent Keith L. Reed in Clymer, NY, The Buffalo News reported today. Reed was found dead on Monday, WGRZ.com reported.  Chautauqua County Sheriff Joseph Gerace reported that Anthony Robert Taglianetti, 42, is wanted in a nationwide manhunt.  Taglianetti is described as six-feet-tall and weighs about 250 pounds. Sheriff Gerace said he was likely still armed. "We are going to treat him as such," Gerace told Woodbridge Patch. "We do feel he is responsible for Mr. Reed's death. Family Members Charged in River Run Murder

Three family members have been charged as accessories to murder in the death of a 75-year-old Dale City man.

Three family members have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a 75-year-old man in Dale City as part of a $1 million insurance fraud scheme, investigators said Monday. Jung Min Jun, 58, of Fresh Meadows, NY, was arrested Friday at the Newark airport as he attempted to board a flight to Beijing. Jun is charged as an accessory to murder in the death of his brother-in-law, Kwang Sup Hur. Hur was found dead in his apartment at the River Run Senior Apartments in Dale City on Sept. 1. Hur’s sister-in-law, Jung Ok Jun, and nephew, Ho Young Jun, were arrested Sunday and both are also facing charges of accessory to murder. Police Seek Leads in Murder Investigation

Police are asking anyone with information in the death of a 75-year-old Dale City man to come forward.

Police had a heavy presence at the River Run Senior Apartments Friday evening as they sought information in the murder of a 75-year-old Dale City man that happened Thursday night. The police were stopping every vehicle and pedestrian entering the apartments on Friday evening to ask if they had noticed any suspicious activity Thursday night. Police also distributed flyers giving general information about the murder investigation. Police said Kwang Hur's wife found him dead in their apartment at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prince William County Police 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn said there were no signs of forced entry, but would not comment on whether there was any apparent struggle or what the cause of death was.
