Patient First to Open on Wednesday at Tacketts Mill

The center will operate on a walk-in basis.

The new Patient First in Lake Ridge will open its doors to patients at 8 a.m. on April 24. Patient First has over 40 medical centers in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, and all offer walk-in services to patients.

“The goal of Patient First is to provide convenient, cost-effective medical care on a walk-in basis,” said R.P. Sowers, M.D., founder and CEO of Patient First. “At the same time, our physicians and staff always work closely and in a collaborative fashion with the area’s existing medical community to provide care.”

Patient First will offer urgent care, primary care providers, digital x-ray services, lab work, prescriptions, and occupational health services. Patient First accepts Aetna, Anthem, CIGNA, Coventry, United Healthcare, Medicare, TRICARE, and other major insurance plans. Visit www.patientfirst.com for a full list.

"The medical center will be similar to our nearby locations in Manassas and Garrisonville," spokesperson Tara Ghavam said in an interview with Patch last year. "The facility will be approximately 7000 foot squared and feature 12 treatment rooms, an on-site lab, on-site digital x-ray, and on-site prescription drugs."

PWC's rapid growth means a greater need for more health care options, she added. Patient First in Lake Ridge will be open 8 a.m.- 10 p.m. every day of the year.
