Strong Armed Robbery at Lake Ridge Giant

Police charged a Woodbridge male teen with robbery.

On Feb. 3, employees at the Giant Grocery Store at 12445 Hedges Run Drive in Lake Ridge reported a robbery to police.

According to the employees, an unknown teen male walked into the store, approached one of the cashiers, and asked to change a $20 bill. When the cashier changed the bill, the teen allegedly grabbed both the change and the original bill and ran out of the store. The cashier reportedly tried to stop the teen, but was pushed out of the way.

After police arrived at 1 p.m., they identified the teen as the accused, arrested the 16-year-old accused without a struggle, and charged him with robbery. His court date and bond information is unavailable.

The headline says "Armed Robbery..." but nothing suggests that in the story.

John, it's listed as strong armed robbery because the teen reportedly pushed the cashier, meaning the robbery involved physical force. This is different from armed robbery, which would involve the use of a weapon.

$20???? I wonder what he would have done for $100. I hope the lil piece of trash enjoys his time in juvenile detention.
