In a small ceremony on June 7, Del. Rich Anderson (R-Woodbridge) presented two Joint House-Senate Resolutions to the loved ones of James Frank Phelps and Gregory J. Gilker, two prominent deceased Occoquan residents.

Though Anderson did not know either of the men, he said that their care for their community was very evident in the legacies they had left behind.

He presented HJR 946 to James and John Phelps, sons of former Occoquan Mayor James Frank Phelps. He presented HJR 945 to the family of Gregory J. Gilker, an artist who headed up the Occoquan Craft Show for several years.
