After the inaugural Tour of the Towns -- Tour of Prince William this year, organizer and Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta wants to bring the event back next year, bigger and improved, according to a recent Washington Post article.
"I’d like it to become a signature annual event in Prince William. I think part of what will happen is the whole community will become educated about cyclists. The [Convention and Visitors Bureau] recognized right away that bringing people into the county to spend money . . . benefits everybody. Getting the county more well known as an area of healthy, outdoor activity is good for everyone," Porta said.
