Traffic in Occoquan Might be Restricted by Commonwealth Transportation Board

The county has voted to ask the CTB to look at the volume of through truck traffic in Occoquan with an eye toward restricting it.

Occoquan may no longer have to deal with through trucks rattling through town along Tanyard Hill Road and Occoquan Road / Washington Street.

At the Oct. 4 Board of County Supervisors meeting, the board voted unanimously to request the Commonwealth Transportation Board to look at the volume of through truck traffic in Occoquan and restrict it.

Residents in Occoquan have voiced complaints about traffic affecting safety, convenience of travel, and the overall look of the town. At a a few months ago, residents worried about the addition of even more traffic.
